Friend gettin beat: Please Help!

One of my best friends comes over all the time with new bruises all over them. I know their father is beating them and I have no clue what to do. Is it my place in life to tell on the father and get him into trouble, or should I stay out of the way of things and hope for the best. I really care about this friend and I want the best for them, please give me suggestions on what I should do with hurting the least possible amount of people. Thanks.
