I thought this would be a good topic to bring up alot of poeple now days are saying it is bad it teaches them violence and so on well I think that it is the parents responsibility to teach the child the diffrence between pretend and real life and explain it is ok to pretend but not ok to do it for real what do you think?

i would never allow my children to play with weapons of any type, even toys. Children must know weapons exist for one thing, and one thing only, to kill things, i really dont think its a good idea to introduce children to this kind of thing

I own a toy shop and refuse to stock them, or any toy that has a violent element.
The weight of evidence suggests that violent play leads to increased misbehaviour. Of course, this isn't for every child, just on average. However, the 'it never did me any harm' argument still isn't valid.
There are plenty of toys on the market to choose from without taking the risk that violent toys do some harm to your child's development.
