Yes blue is proffesional color but not strictly blue, tones of blue color. As You can see You have proffesional rating star of 10 and its color is also blue. :)
Also white color with blue tones is good combination. As mylot have white color.
Black is good for contrast, but You can avoid black color using dark green or dark blue color

There are also a lot of webpages with a black background color. Black is a good color to showcase your photo's, because of the contrast.

Im not sure about that, I know that pink attract me more, lol, I am a pink freak :) I use alot of pink, black and purple on my sites

ya sure.definetly colour of the page and website attracts more people.generally it should be a mixture of light and bright colours

This would completely depend upon the nature of your site and the people you want to attract to it. For instance virtual pet sites are usually either girlie or targetted towards children so bright vibrant colours are used. Some art and band sites go for a dark grungy look to reflect their pieces/music etc.
Basically once you know who you want to target and the basis of your site, do a search for other sites to get an idea of layout/colour etc and work from there.

Yes you're right about blue being used alot as it's seen as "more professional". However on more personalised, non-commercial sites this isn't the case.
