Ok we all know about the mother-in-law vs wife rivalry.. who do you think SHOULD be more important in a man's life? His parent or his significant other? I know 100% without a doubt that my man is first in my life.. but for some reason with men and their mothers it is harder for them to let go than for a woman to let go of her father.. What do you think? Who do you put first? Who do you think should be first?

When you get married, your spouse should be who is more important. Your mother will always love you and with that love, should come understanding.
BUT....the same goes with the spouse. If your spouse loves you (add I would hope since you married), your spouse would be supportive. With that support, your spouse would understand that the other holds their parent with affection.
Then it is a compromise when it comes to those you love. So, I don't think one can really puts one before the other...but really tries to find a balance.

I think the parent is truly first until you get married.... once you are married there should be a respect between the two. Push comes to shove, the spouse should be first.
