do you think being an 'only-child' is good or bad?

today many family just have one child .espacially in china .china has one-child policy .with the implementation of the one-child policy .some problem becom .the child feel lonely and it's hard to get close friend .no one can share thing with them .but on another hand .today's children are spoiled .because they are only one child in the family .they will accept nothing but brand-name commodities.when celebrating birthdays .they like to give luxurious parties .they are ignorant of hardship .thrift .hard work ,and public ethics

hmm, thats a worldwide problem, i think.
its not exactly that China has the "one child" policy.
China has a well planned family control policy:
- in urban areas, couples are encouraged to have one child;
- in rural areas, couples are encourages to have one child, but they always have at least 2, even more;
- for minorities, young couples could have 2, 3 even more children, I think.

i'd never know. i was born with a sister already, and we're really close. i couldn't imagine life without her, in fact.

BEING AN ONLY CHILD,ACCORDING TO ME IS BAD BECAUSE THE CHILD FEELS LONELY AND NONE TO PLAY WITH. THERE ARE HIGH PROBABILITIES THAT THE CHILD MIGHT BECOME EXTREMELY POSSESSIVE WITH ITS BELONGINGS SINCE IT DID NOT HAVE TO SHARE IT WITH ANYONE ELSE WHICH WILL ULTIMATELY MAKE IT SELFISH. A LONELY CHILD MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO MIX UP WITH OTHER CHILDREN AND WILL TURN INTO AN INTROVERT PERSON. IT WILL BECOME COMPLEXED.

Both. first,since have one child, parents will have enough time to spend with their child and they do not need to work so hard to support the whole home;On the other hand,because just have one child in a home ,so he/she will be lonely, this is disadvantageous in his growth.
