butchers put weird objects in their window, after closing? Is it because the window would look bare without the meat? Or is there some cookie story behind it?

I am not sure of this one peizli, and I searched everywhere I could to find an answer. DRAT.
A friend's father was a butcher when they were growing up and she said that every day after school and when the butcher shop closed, they had to remove all the meat into the coolroom, and then wash the display cabinet, as well as the window. She didn't say anything about a display, but perhaps it has something to do with the windor not looking bare as you suggested. t would be great if we could find out though.
Because I could not find an empty, but decorated, butcher's shop window I will give you one full of meat peizli. LOL
