care for parents

we are in a position to care for the parents at their oldage
most of them are avoiding their parents at their ,my neighbour has a old mother they not just caring not even
giving proper,am not married yet now am carying my parents
but after marriage at the oldage of my parents can i care them i have a doubt why it happens?
