Has anyone ever tried to litterbox train a puppy?

Wow! I have never heard of that. But I guess it isn't too far off. Cats do it, why not puppies too? I would love to heard how this works out for you.
I only concern would be the size of the puppies and litter box. My puppy is a Basset and he is so stubborn, there is no way I could get him to go in a litter box.

I do not think it will be long and mine won't fit either. Thank you for responding!

Hmm...I don't think that is gonna be an easy thing to do, I wouldn't do it if I were you because I think it will confuse them when it comes time to go outside. Are they young and they cannot go outside right now because of their age?
I would use newspapers close to the door where you will be letting them in and out in when they are old enough. Then you eventually move the newspapers outside, and they will catch on that they are suppossed to go outside. It will take some time, but it will happen.

I have a chihuahua and just started reading about it and exploring the possibilities. This is the site that (in my opinion) has the best information:

I know people will often "paper train" puppies using newspaper. The dogs wouldn't need litter because they don't have the same urge to bury their waste that cats do. Eventually you wean them off the paper and teach them to go outside as they are older and able to "hold it" for longer.
If you do this, just be sure not to leave paper on the floor anywhere else in the house that you don't want them piddling, it can confuse them.
Good Luck.
