They are very dangerous. You cannot touch them. Why would you want them?

I have seen people handle them and I do prefer predators..One of the handful that can respect boundaries and love them as the unique creatures that they are.

I am not brave my dear, as I am not ready to die from a bite from them. I am allergic to all insects.

I think that is kind of gross. I don't think I would ever have a scorpian as a pet. Do you have one? Does it still have a stinger.

Personally, I wouldn't have them as pets. But I also had a bad experience with them once. I was living in Fort Irwin, CA (Its an Army Base) I had a bag of top soil that I got from the community center, I wanted to grow grass in my yard. So I am outside dumping the bags on the ground( In flip-flops, which was not smart) When a Scorpion that was in the bag, landed on my foot and stung me. My foot swelled three times its size with-in two minutes and I had to go to the ER. But I don't have anything against people that do want them as pets. Just respect them.

I think they are sufficient for medical trade...It would be kind of dangerous to have a scorpion in the house, even if it is caged...what if the animal escapes and stings you during your sleep or so? What then? I also don't understand people who consider snakes & iguanas as pets. I mean, ok you like the animal, but it's dangerous! You are putting yourself in peril! These are not dogs to stay faithful!

Thanks for your contribution. Not sure they are the kind to escape a cage unless due to negligence. Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks for responding.

No thanks I would rather have a rat and I hate rats. I think I will stick to my ferrets for a pet

Where I live, we have many scorpions. Some get into the house. They really are not something I would want for a pet. They can be deadly, especially the tiny ones.

If there is a scientific or medical need for them, like to milk their venom for antidotes or something it would be cool.
I really don't understand why people like to keep these dangerous and hostile animals as pets though. I think traditional pets are that for a reason, dogs and cats interact with humans on a very high level. A form of communication is built, as the animals would naturally live in packs or families in the wild and have the mental ability to socialise.
i have friends who have kept snakes (pythons) as pets, they were cool to look at but that was about it. Whenever they got the snakes out of the tank they would hiss and get angry. They used to require at least two people to be in the room incase the snake decided to try and crush them while they held it (when it grew bigger).
I really think that these animals are better off in the wild, but hey, whatever turns you on babe!

I would rather poke my eyes out with hot knitting needles. Scorpions, snakes, tanrantulas, black widows, my ex husband...they are all the same.
My pets are my dogs, my son sometimes.

Creepy! I wouldn't want one in my house. Especially if it was a poisonous kind, I think that would be very dangerous. I have had pet rats... no different than a mouse or gerbil, just a bigger sized rodent. They can bite you, but they won't if you are careful with them, but a scorpion can sting, and really hurt you. I wouldn't even want a tarantula in my house, and scorpions are more dangerous than they are. Its the creep factor that I wouldn't be able to get over.
I prefer pets I can PET!

i have a pet scorpion her name is sahara she is an african black emperor she is about one and a half years old and about four inches long so she is still just a baby and no she does not have the stinger on her tail removed i think that is cruel she has stung and pinched me plenty of times she will pinch before she stings and when she pinches she dont let go you have to pry her claws off your finger haha and her venom is just a little more potent than a bee sting so unless you are allergic to bees she will not kill you it just hurts like twice as much as a bee sting

To be honest I really hate scorpions because they're a bit scary. They are poisonous and very deadly. It's better safe than sorry.
