Which one do you prefer? I prefer Ms. because it is the actual equivalent of Mr., denoting neither married nor unmarried.

Although it is not supposed to be that way, some jobs and applications discriminate on the basis of marriage. Plus, if you are introduced as Mrs., then everyone immediately knows you status. But, that's not so with guys so we need to level the playing field. Now, if married guys are willing to go by Mrs. too....

I have always preferred Ms. myself, both when I was technically a Miss and now that I am a Mrs. Men never have to change from Mr. and so I prefer the Ms. It doesn't offend me to be called Mrs, though. I am proud to be my husband's wife. Just when it's my choice I will go with the Ms.

I am divorced so whenever I have to choose the option I choose "Ms."

I prefer Ms. I am not married but was once. I still home my married last name so I would not want to be called Miss, unless it was followed my my maiden name. But I also would not want to be called Mrs because I am no longer married and would only want to hold that title if my partner and I married. So, until my marriage status changes...and I do not think it ever will...I will remain Ms. Great question!

I totally agree with you about Ms. I use it for the same reason that you do. When I married the love of my life, last year, I kept Ms. and I also kept my name. My husband love this. I'm Ms. Myname. and he's Mr. Hisname. None of this Mr. and Mrs. Hisname for us. What really bugs us is when people would address people as Mrs. and Mrs. HisFirst, HisLast, not een saying Him & Her Theirlast, if the couple had the same name. My husband and I decided we'd be ourselves, keep our own names, and let everyone know it!!!

I prefer Ms. because, to me, it shows respect. Its not about your marital status, its about you. But I have to share a funny, I responded to a letter from a person named Kim XXX (last name left off) with a letter written to Ms. Kim XXX....well found out later it was a Mr. LOL
