Should people charged for crimes allowed to contest in elections

Last week two of our parliamentarians were convicted for murder. India has a track record of entertaining people with criminal background to contest in elections.The coliation politics even makes them ministers in the cabinet.
Its high time that we clean the world largest decomcracy from this deadly culture.
I feel that this should be stopped and the election commission should ban such people from contesting in elections.

You are an indian thats why you have asked this question ..in india politics means
nothing but corruption...
the person who have comitted crimes are mostly elected by the person because they donate money at the time of elections to the slum workers.....
also they are very lifted by the political parties for their dominating nature
