I have 2 dogs at this time. I love animals. I am an at home mom so I am home alot to care for them. Although the 4 year old is MUCH more work! LOL Over the past years of having all sorts of animals I find that cats and dogs are the easiest to care for. They get baths if they need them, they get fed every day. They get brushed once in a while and they get all sorts of love and affection from everyone.
The cat... is a loner. She spends all day and all night just sleeping. She scratches at the door when she has the need to go out and do her 'thing' and then she scratches to come back in and go back to sleep somewhere.
I have big dogs. I have learned that the little ones are the ones that can be the handfull. Always messing on the floor. Always being under foot all the time. And very hard to housebreak! And most of the time the little ones are very hyper and high strung.
Just remember.. having a pet is like having a child.. you can't get one and then just abandon it and never take care of it! Make sure it's something you have time to take care of BEFORE you get one. And if possible, go adopt one at your local shelter. If you don't have time to housebreak a puppy... by adopting a pet you can get one that is already housebroke and safe. They have to be all checked out before being paced into a new home. ;-)

I have an amazing Golden Retriever. I don't know how we got so lucky with her, but she's literally NO work at all. From the moment we got her, she's the most mellow, sweet dog I've ever seen and she's only 10 months old! Other than feeding her, taking her out to go potty, brushing her, and walking her.... it's a piece of cake! I wish all dogs could be this easy, because I know they're not. But dogs can bring a lot of fulfillment to you life. :)

I have one dog. She is pretty cool but I have not figured out how to house train her yet. So she spends a lot of time outside.
