I just had a baby shower recently for a friend. Here's a couple of games that I used.
Baby "Price is Right"
Gather 10-12 baby items, such as newborn diapers, a bib, burp clothes, baby wipes, a pacifier, baby shampoo, a rattle, and cotton swabs. Write the price of each item on individual cards and seal each card in an envelope. Write the name of the items on the envelopes and set them by the products. Have guests pair up into teams of two and pass each team the list of items on a sheet of paper. The teams guess the price of each item and write it next to that item on their list. An announcer then opens the envelopes one by one and gives the card to the team with the closest guess. The person who collects the most cards wins. Give all of the baby products to the guest of honor. Although this game can be played individually without teaming up, adding the team element allows for more mingling and makes it a livelier group activity. It was kind of fun to play this and it was a good ice breaker for us all.
Another one we played was Guess What Nursery Character I Am. To play this, write down the names of some nursery rhyme characters that everybody knows. Like: Jack
Sprat, Mother Goose, and etc. Write down each name on a slip of paper, fold it in half, and put them into a hat, or a baby bowl or something. When a guest arrives, have them draw a name, without looking, and then you safety pin the name to the back of their blouse. They have to figure out who they are by asking yes or no questions only. (For example: If you thought you were little Jack Horner, you might ask: did I sit in a corner?) It's kind of fun and everybody gets involved. I promise you'll have people getting silly with this one.
For the food table, I did something that had all the women commenting over and over how cute it was. I bought the new Mom a new baby bath tub, and some of those little yellow plastic ducks (the ones that you place in the tub to tell if the temperature is too hot.)
I washed the baby bath tub and placed my punch bowl inside. To fill up the spaces around the side of the bowl, I used blue shredded packing paper. (I believe it's called excelsior; it's usually used to fill gift bags.) I also cleaned the rubber ducks and had them floating in the punch, and around the bowl on the shredded paper. It made a nice decoration for the table, and she also got to take the tub and duckies home.
Hope everyone gives you some great ideas! Showers are always such fun!

There are some really fun baby shower ideas out there! I like the ones that are easy and inexpensive. One I have played involves pinning a diaper pin or safety pin to each guest's shirt. The guests are then warned not to use any form of the word mother (mom, mommy). If they are caught using any of these words, the person catching them can take their pin and add it to her shirt. Whoever ends up with the most pins wins! Another one is to have a container of uncooked rice and mix in some safety pins. The player is then blindfolded and has to dig around in the rice to find as many safety pins as possible. This is really fun and much harder than it sounds. Hope you have fun trying these new ideas.
