My daughter just turned 7 months old yesterday and she still isn't sleeping through the night. She is a good eater and what not, so I don't know what to do about this. How old were your kids when they started sleeping through the night? What's the secret? I'm tired of being tired!!!

my daughter was 2 months when she slept throu the night and my son was 3 months. try giving her a warm bath before you put her to bed that always seemed to help my kids. With my son it got to the point where we just had to let him cry, it sucked and it was soooooooooooo hard but he would quite down and go to sleep

you're lucky they slept through the night so early! i tried the letting her cry thing before because i know that most kids will cry themselves to sleep. but not my daughter! she will cry until you pick her up. i don't remember having this problem with my oldest daughter.
well, thanks for the comment

The secret is she will only be an infant for a little while longer. Every kid is different, my first slept through the night at 4 weeks (sorry!) but the second took a LOT longer. I think sticking to a routine with your baby helps (in a lot of ways) but maybe the only advice that really works is just try to rest yourself whenever you can and remember that this too shall pass. Before you know it you will have a happy little one year old toddling around who is so tired from all that activity that she will sleep all night long!

what wonderful words of wisdom, thank you so much. the idea of her toddling around made me laugh. the fact that she has a cold right now doesn't help matters much. but i'll try to hang in there:)

Each child is different. A childs routine has alot to do with how they rest and you yourself rest. Try different routines with your infant. Have a sitter that can stay overnight with you and your child if possible every now and then. I have 4 kids and all were different. The secret is your child. Is she waking up to eat or is something else the reason? What has your doctor told you about the situation? I think the reason that babies do this is to prepare us for the sleepless nights when they are out as teenagers. LOL.
