fake Christmas trees

What should I look for in a fake Christmas tree? We have to go fake this year due to allergies. Any suggestions? Do we have to spend a lot to get a good looking tree?

I saw a beautiful light purple tree in a local shop, I think it is the most beautiful tree I have ever seen, I am going to look around one like it...
