No points for responses to discussions? I must have misundersood the rules.

I thought I read somewhere that members got paid for responses made to their discussions. I was away for a week and when I logged back in, I had a lot of new responses to my discussions but not one cent in my earnings for the time I was away. I guess the only earnings come from responses I make and the initial discussion. What is the point of keeping the discussions alive if this is the case?

I am just as surprised as you are about this, because I believed also that the responses played a major role in the earnings proceedure.
I can only assume that the response rate is used to calculate the rate of payment for each post and therefore plays an indirect role in the end figure. The idea of having no benefits derived from responses would only serve to be counter productive in developing an active discussion and work against the improvements that Mylot have currently managed to implement.

I'm not sure what's up. Some of my discussions show 50 or 60 responses, but when I go in, the responses aren't there.
I've wondered, too, why I waste my time trying to keep a discussion alive. The comments we make to the reponses we receive don't pay us anything. I think that if mylot wants us to keep discussions going (be the moderator or our own discussions) they ought to compensate us accordingly. I get so many responses to all of my discussions now that there's no way I have time to go back and comment about all of the answers. There needs to be a better way.

As you say, replying to most of the responses and keeping the discussion alive is a very time consuming practice.
If I receive a good response rate during the day, then I can often find that when I return home from work and go online I am spending the first hour attending to responses before I even look at another discussion.

No, we don't get paid based on the number of responses. You only get paid based on YOUR responses that you leave... Or you can get paid via your referrals or your pictures your post.
It's just fun keeping your discussions alive because you can see what others think... :)

I think but am not positive that you will make something off your discussions, only if you are there daily giving the comments. to the responses in your discussion. if your not on you dont make anything.
I made 50 cents one day and on that day I think I had 1 or 2 responses and a whold bunch of comments.
Not positive but it is a possibility

Nah, I don't think they reward people who gets responses to the discussions they have posted.
I was away for a couple of days too sometime last week, so I earned nothing at all even though I noticed that people have responded to my discussions, viewed my profile & I even had a couple of new friends added :(

something that have figured out in this regard is that you get paid for the responses made to your discussions, only when you keep continuing participating in other people's discussions as well.
I don't mean to say that is the perfect rule but that is something that I have observed from my personal experience

This is pretty much what I guessed that it must be, the posting rate is increased by the response that you receive. It would be a great pity to lose the overall discussion format and end up with just a list of unanswered responses because they had no value.
This is the very first discussion by isasice where she has not remained active throughout.
