What causes dandruff? how to clean it up?

I think dandruff is the flaking of the skin caused by over active oil glands in the scalp.Try head and shoulder that seem to work pretty good for me.

Dandruff is caused by having a dry scalp, but that does not mean your hair shaft is dry, so you could have oily hair with dry scalp and still have dandruff. You can buy over the counter dandruff shampoos that help control dandruff. If that doesn't work a dermatologist can prescribe a stronger prescription shampoo.

My brother was plagued with it in his youth. I remember my mother using Listerine to help rid him of this problem.

Hi there, I thought dandruff was the drying of scalp skin. So when your scalp dries out, that is when dandruff takes place. I think a lot of people do suffer from this problem, but do not show it, I know that some people can just keep their scalps moist all the time, but I am unsure how, I wash my hair daily, and I would still get dandruff. It has sort of become an obsession to just pick it out of my hair, because it annoys me so much. I did then find an anti-dandruff shampoo and conditioner and found out that that worked quite well. Dandruff is dry scalp. There are a few shampoos & conditioners on the market for this. The best one I found is called Seborin. I hope you can get it where you live. Shampoo your hair as normal and condition your hair and scalp very gently. Rinse and do your hair. Dandruff usually clears up quite quickly once you have found the right product. Dont brush your hair to close to the scalp as this will lift more dry skin. All the best!

well one tv commercial says that germs cause dundruff and to get rid of it use those unti-dundruff shampoos. greetings. : )

Dandruff is caused by a dry scalp, why dont you try using a dandruff shampoo, i prefer head and shoulders cos i think it worked with me. Now im also trying to shampoo my hair every other day but use conditioner instead and its working ok. Try to wash your hair every 2 days just to give chance for the natural oil to go out and might help as well.

dry skin in your scap causes dandruff..it is also due to germs in your scalp..if you do not attend to your dandruff immediately it may lead to a more serious scalp problem and could cause excessive hair fall..

i dont know what cause dandruf but i use head & shoulder and it really works

just buy anti dandruff.
