1. by localizing Linux to different
regional languages to reach all
corners of the world ;
2. by uniting different makes of
Linux into one standard bug free version ;
3. by catering to the needs of all
types of needs ;
4. by improving multimedia capabilities
& gaming features in Linux
... ... ... etcetra

create a linux environment that is user friendly like the windows and all the application and games will run and very easy to install..... I think all people in the world will junk windows because it's too expensive...

if you really want to beat gates, you need to make linux more user friendly, thats kinda away from what linux is.
Linux for for maybe 10% of computer users
I just installed linux for class and it was not a cake walk for a first timer. An I consider myself a heavy computer user, I am a Server Admin.
If you want to beat gates, its got to easier!!!!

Really? I'm by no means a geek but I've installed Mandrake, Slackware, and Debian on my machines with little to no trouble. Which version did you install?
I would have to disagre with Linux only being for 10% of computer users. It would take a little adjustments but almost every person could find a flavor to suit their needs. With the exception of heavy gamers. Game makers porting their wares for Linux are sadly lacking. I play America's Army and that is the only thing keeping me in Windows. Everything else I use my Linux box.

Linux should be easy to administer and easy to use like windows

It would be tough to beat them. Although we are slowing growing in numbers, we beaing Nix users.
I think what it would take is serious refusal to by their half-rate OS's. That would mean also not buying computers with Windows pre-installed. Not easy since most people can't find a retail computer without it.
We would also need to convince more hardware makers to get out of the Windows parade and make their components compatible. A great many now do, but it's still not yet wide-spread enough to make the average newbie accept Linux as viable. People are pretty lazy and if their computer doesn't hold their hand they don't see the value. Like not locking your door because it's too hard to find your keys.

yup ur right!!! if only there is a linux os that is easy to install and administer just like windows, people will start to junk windows and shift to a more cheap and stable os

That's funny. Their aren't many os's that are worse than Windows when it comes to security and stability.
