Anyone seen the movie or read the book?
I rather like the way the movie stylizes the prizewinning process in order to put a romanticized 1950s veneer on the protagonist's life before veering into darker, more realistic territory. Julianne Moore is superb. I wish Woody Harrelson's alcoholic father had been a tiny bit more fleshed out. The real discovery, though, is Ellary Porterfield playing the daughter who grows up to write the book.

I haven't seen the movie, but I want to. I've read the book, and it's really good. In fact, I just reread it today. I wish they still had contests like the ones Evelyn Ryan entered.
