Which is the best digital camera. Is it sony or canon

Please give suggestions on digi cams. Is sony better than canon. Which is better w.r.t cost & picture quality

Well in this case i cant give too much of information but i can give you some of my personal opinion. I own a Canon S2IS and it is too very amazing. It has a lot of features and i am very much happy with it. The only problem with it is it uses alkaline batteries and they drain like hell. We can get around this by using rechargable ones which last for around 500 snaps. All in all i am very happy with it. No regrets for buying it. S2IS is not available now, its discontinued. S3IS is the current semi-professional model from Canon

But niru i feel the S21S is a simple basic version digital camera. You cannot look at it as a professional camera where you would want features like manual focus and other effects... But for a still camera, Canon i guess it the best.. Sony is good for Camcorders.. Low end Sony cameras are also very good...

I think sony product better in quality then canon product. If you have enough money i recomended you to buy sony product.

Sony definitely sony's CARL ZEISS lens make capturing of images an easier task...mind it though sony's camrea are good for amateurs and starting photographers if you are looking for something in the professional range then go in for an SLR single lens reflex Canon makes the best SLR's and they have a vast array of lenses these cameras come equipped with with image stabilization hardware which means your picture will be perfect even if you shake it
