Do you have any tips for cutting out images in photoshop?

try to use magnetic lasso tool(you can press 'L' from your keyboard), then change the feather value to 3. the feather value can make your cutting look smooth.

Quick mask works a treat for removing backgrounds from photographs, artwork etc.

yes I do use the lasso tool I think it is the best
