I was in a sorority in college. I only stayed in it for 2 years. At first it was great because I met a handful of really great girls who I am still very close with. The other girls... well, let's just say I'm not missing them one bit!
What was your experience?

Yes, I'm in a sorority. I was a pretty shy girl who felt out of place at a big school. Joining a sorority helped me find my 'place' there. I feel at home and comfrontable around my sisters. Everyone knows girls can get shady and sometimes quite b*tchy, so you stating that theres some you dont miss, really doesn't surpise me. Anytime you get a large amount of females together, theres always the chance for disaster.
I definately would recommend it though. Its one of the better decisions I've made. I'm sorry that being greek didn't work out for you tho. Can I ask what chapter you joined? Where at?

because I joined a black sorority it's for life. I have been out of college since 2004 and I am still very much a part of my sorority and participate in a lot of post graduate activities that we have. I guess thats the difference in white sororities and black sororities. With black sororities and fraternities you definitely get a new family for life.

That is really nice. I wish I had had something like that. It is so nice that not only did you make some good friends, you got a family out of it as well.
