Does money really matter?

We all know the old sayings. "Money can't buy you happiness", "There are more important things in life than money". In my heart, I really do believe these these sayings, but I have to be honest. I get tired of being broke. I just want to be able to pay my rent, utilities and food as well as provide for my family (I'm a single mom) every month without having to figure out who doesn't get paid this time (rob from Peter to pay Paul, another old saying). So how important is money to you? Do you think it would solve all of your problems, make you happier? Or do you think you would be just as miserable?

I agree that money can't buy you happiness but it will get you there quicker! If I had more money I could spend more time with the kids and family instead of worrying about money.

I wonder how simpler life was back in the days they traded goats and sheep for things? I get tired of worrying about money. That's why I wish I had more of it.

my parents have spend the past 30 years, working 7 days a week and have taken in total 3 holidays during this 30 years. they work sooo hard to earn money and now they're in a comfortable position and can afford to retire, yet they still are insistant on working. when i was growing up, i never really got to see my parents much because they were working and i really feel that my relationship with them has really suffered because of this. i know that they only work just to buy their children nice things, but if it was the choice of having nice things or spending quality family time, then i would choose family time

Thank you for that. One of my other discussions was asking for advice on what jobs I can do to be able to support my family but still be home as much as possible. I never really had my mother around because she worked all the time but at least my grandmother was there to raise me. But she passed away when I was 14. I still had my mother but by then the damage was done. She was just a stranger to me. I ended up on my own at 14. I think as parents, we want better for our children then what we had for ourselves. I thinks that's why it's so important to me to be here for my kids because no one was there for me after my grandmother.

I think money is something that provides you a living. It is Something but not everything. It's still important but having just money will not make your life complete. Eg. money can't buy you happiness, etc.
So, I only think that money is something that just provides you a way of life but life is much much more than just money. I feel bad if you are saying that you are having problem paying even the bare necessity. I really wish you well. Hopefully the new year will bring good fortune and you won't need to be broke again.

Money really matters, how will we eat, dress, do everyday living without it??? could you??? if you are a type of a person who wants to spend a lot maybe what you earn right now would not solve the prblem...if you dnt need those things, just cut it off... spend wisely or just invest it on something valuable...
