I think that Mutual Funds are much better and much safer as compared with direct trading that is why I prefer to go with Mutual Funds. You can make good profits from Mutual Funds and they also provide tax benifits.

It depends. If you invest as an owner in stocks, and you thoroughly researched the stock or the company itself, it is safer than investing in mutual funds. Investing in a company's stock is like owning a part of the company. If you find a company that is doing good, products that are selling good in the market, invest in its stock. By investing as an owner (business owner), there's no need to afraid of the stock market's fluctuations. Invest as an owner, and not as a gambler.

If U r a moderate risk taker u can opt for mutual funds..however if u have a gr8 appetite for risk,u can go for shares trading. The former keeps u realtively free from day to day worry about the market fluctuations since these r taken care of by the fund managers. However,in case of share trading ,specially if u trading in volatile stock u must be very careful about the stop loss prices ...

If you are willing to take a calculated risk,Share Trading id better than MFs,as the latter, themselves, make their profits,by investing in shares!
