I did not have children until after 3 years of marriage. So, when I got my first child a boy, I named him Pathum Abisheik meaning Pathum = wishes Abisheik = enthronement. because he is the enthronement of my wishes. My second child Kinkini Kaavya meaning Kinkini - beautiful melody Kaavya - Rhyme. I hope she live up to her name cos at the moment she's a riot.

I just liked the name. with each child the name I chose just stuck with me and I liked it. none of them were named after someone there was just something about each name I really liked but I dont know why.

I can't remember where I got the inspiration for naming my older daughter. I had a name picked out, but she's not that, I ended up changing my mind after I held her for the first time. I did give her my middle name because I couldn't think of any other good names that went with her first name though.
My second child's first name came from a medieval novel that my husband read & her middle name is his god-daughter's middle name. The character she is named after was a princess & she's already showing 'princess' tendencies. But I love her, the little booger.

I gave my son name Nipun based on his skills and his intellligence. He is an expert in most of the things. HE learns very fast and picks up the things the way you do it. Nipun means skillful or expert.
And in hinduism, it is also a mandate that we should find a letter for the name the baby. It is extracted after a calculative process which involves the astrological methods. His name letter came to be N by chance and we named him Nipun.

I love the name Grace so when we found out it was a boy, we had to put a masculine spin to it for his first name,
he has 2 middle names, after my father and my hubby's grandfather so his name is:
Graysen Robert Ray

I have a nephew also named Grayson (but as you can see they spell it a little differently). Your baby and my nephew are the only two people I've ever heard of with that name. how unique!

Interesting question. I do not have any children but I can tell you how the ancient Chinese used to name their children. When a child was born the father would take a steel spoon drop it on the floor and the noise he heard would be the name of the child. Further on Lalu Prasad Yadav has a daughter called "Kursi" which means chair ; since her birth coincided during the time he got into the political chair:) Unbelievable ?? believe it.

I named my son Shreyas in Hindi it means The Best. He was my first born after seven years of marriage so I was on top of the world and thought he was the best kid ever born to anyone so simply named him that. Can you blame me. I have just given birth to my daughter after seven years from my first one and I have named her Lavanya it means shine on the face of a person, warmth of the beauty or most beautiful.I adore her a lot. She looks just like her brother. Infact from their photos from same age you can not make out who is who. Okay I will stop my rantingf now, I might bore you its just that when its about my kids there is no stop sign for me...
