Thinking of Adopting

We recently found out that we will not be able to have children of our own and would like to adopt one day. I know it is costly and I have been researching. It is also different from state to state. What has your experience been with adoption?

We are going through a foster to adopt program with our state. We would foster our child for 6 months then can legally adopt them after that (that's the way our state makes you do it with the foster care system). There are nearly 500,000 children in america in the foster care system that need homes. The states pays for absolutley everything, in fact, after we started this process we found out that the state pays you to care for the children during the foster care process. You can decide what type of child (i.s., ages, race, gender, any illnesses, or behavioral problems) will be best in your home. People think that if you go through the state, you get whatever child the state gives you, and thats not the case at all. It's worth researching into to see if that could work for you and your family. Good luck!

I haven't ever done this but I think adoption is a wonderful thing. If I couldn't have children of my own I would deffinatly adopt. There are a lot of kids out there that really need a good home.
