Tool vs Perfect Circle

they're both good. and i have the opposite of your experience, im more familiar with APC than tool. i like them both though. question: who was first? apc or tool? i dont really know.

hmm..maynard james keenan with the body paint or without?i think my vote would to tool this time. they may have some lengthy cuts in their albums, but it's still good to listen to. i actually preferred a perfect circle with their former bassist--Paz Lechantin.

I enjoy them both thanks to my sons. I don't care who it is as long as the music is playing!!!

I don't think you can really compare them as the two are quite different, the only thing they have in common is that Maynard sings for both. APC has always been more radio friendly and easier to get into (unlike with Tool who've had several songs and videoclips banned from radio and TV, hehe). I first got into APC and then Tool and if I have to be entirely honest I do prefer Tool (seen them live several times), but I adore the first APC album (Mer de Noms). Both are incredibly good in their own ways.

A Perfect Circle just has the same lead singer (which originally they were going to rotate different singers each album)...TOOL is better because they consistently have entertaining music where as A Perfect Circle is hit and miss for me...loved A Perfect Circles first album a lot then after that..eh

This is a tough decision for me. I listened to Tool first because they were my boyfriends favorite band. I do love A Perfect Circle, I thouroughly enjoy their movie but I just saw Tool in concert twice and that was unbelievable. I don't think it's the same members but it is the same lead singer James Maynard, he is sexy haha. I think I'm going to vote for Tool just because I just saw them and they were phenomenal.

Both the bands are in two different genres, Tool is Progressive Rock while APC is Alternative rock. Tool is my pick because of the everchanging sound of their albums.

I can't pick a favorite between these two, i love maynards vocals so ultimatley i like both bands pretty much equally. I've been Tool fan longer than i have APC, but thats only because Tool came out..wayyyy before APC. and no, they dont have all the same members, the only thing these two bands have in common is that they have the same frontman.

it's a matter of preference.. personally, i like A Perfect Circle better, though.
