I have been stopped plenty. No seatbelt, speeding... All deserved citations except one. I was working late laying epoxy flooring in a building owned by the company I worked for. Had to do it after hours because... well... epoxy smells and the retail stores in the building probably would not have liked it. Anyway, I was driving home afterward... about 10 oclock or so. I stopped only once at McDonalds for a QP with cheese, fries, and a soda. I was eating it while driving home and I crossed the center line a little bit while juggling my food. I wasn't really being careful because it was late at night and I was pretty much all alone on the road. All alone except for the cop that came out of nowhere. He pulled me over. I figured he was going to give me a ticket for erratic driving or something like that. I was hoping for maybe a warning. No such luck. He ran me through a series of sobriety tests. I believe i passed all but one. I simply cannot stand on one foot and look up. I don't know why but I lose my balance every time. So they took me in(back up had arrived by this time) but said that rather than taking me all the way to the county lock up they would stop at the local PD in Philomath. ( A small town on the way.) There they would administer a breathalizer. They said it was so I wouldn't have to walk all the way back to my jeep if the test turned out negative. They had me blow in to the tube and the readout read .000. They then had me rinse my mouth out with what must have been some kind of mouth wash and blow again. They said the first blow was just to clear the machine. This time I blew a .130. Despite my protestations that I had just gotten off work and had nothing to drink, they carted me off to the Benton County lockup. When we got there they stuffed a folded sheet of paper in my coat pocket and told me I should read it when I got a chance. They took my coat from me when they put me in the drunk tank for the night so I had no chance to read it until the next day. As it turns out, that paper was an explanation of my rights to have an independant blood test or urinalysis taken prior to internment. By the time I was allowed to read it, however, it was useless information since any alchohol in my system would have already been gone. Afterward I hired my own attorney and the company I worked for hired me one as well, and both of them basically said I was screwed. That it would come down to my word against theirs, and a cops word is worth more. I ended up losing my license for three months all because I crossed the yellow dotted line.

Many times, most of the times I got warnings. I have famliy that works at the police station, the sheriff is my uncle, the county secretary is my aunt...never mind to long to answer. Basically I have a lot of family members that work with the county and they helped me clear most of my speeding tickets.

Why would they do that? They are just allowing you to endanger yourself!

Yes, when my son was five years old we were driving to the store in a yellow plymouth duster; the police pulled us over thinking we had committed a crime. They made us get out of the car and sit on the curb, my son was screaming and crying. They realized they were wrong and let us go. Mistaken idenity.

Yes, yesterday I was stopped for not having the correct emissions stickers on my car. I felt so stupid! The officer was really nice and only gave me a warning.

Yes, I have been stopped three times, but only for controls. I have to admit I was going quite fast, but my speed had not been measured and they told me nothing about it. One of those times I "dribbled" two cars (one was waiting to turn left and was still in my lane and the other was coming from the right and invaded a piece of my lane, I was going on a precedence road) and I made my tires screaming a bit. I didn't see the police that was a few meters ahead and they stopped me. The policeman asked me my documents and told me that he comprehends me (because of the car coming from the right) and he left me go. Maybe I was lucky or he saw I was living in the area and they tend to ticket people from other towns.

I think that at some time or another every person who drives will be stopped by the Police. Yes and that includes me too and a couple of times in my youth it was because I had been driving too fast whilst other times for things like a random breath test, check my licence or vehicle registration details etc. Just cop it on the chin because if you have done something wrong it probably makes up for all the times you haven't been pulled over and the rest is just to make sure the driver has a licence plus a registered vehicle or not driving under the influence. :)

Oh yeah.. Im a speed demon.. so they have collected lots of money from me.. LOL. But Im doing better. I will NEVER FORGET.. GA Police, I will not say what county.. I was driving my camaro.. which was a little old.. and well.. I was speeding.. and go caught. He stopped me, gave me my ticket and I was fine with it. But.. my car would not start afterward and HE DIDN'T OFFER TO HELP ME!!!! He said just sit there and it will start. Are you kidding me.. aren't they supposed to protect and serve as well as take my money.. gees. Yeah, that day was pretty crappy for me.
