Now this is for both sexes, Where are all the "Gentlemen"? I have been dubbed one of the last of a dying breed. Due to the fact that I care what my wife says and thinks. I am respectful to her parents and family. This is not the first time I have been called this, so is it really such a rare thing these days?

I have been blessed to have married one of the few remaining gentlemen alive. I have to say that I did marry a man MUCH older then myself because all of the guys that I dated before him that were close to my own age were sooooo immature, egotistical, and selfish. My husband is the true definition of a gentlemen...he loves to take care of me (of course, I take care of him in return). Good for you for being a gentlemen also! Your wife is a lucky girl!

I like to tell her so. LOL actually, i'm about the only guy she's ever been with that's been her age, but i was always mature. Before me, she too had always dated older guys because they too were more mature than guys her age. I'm lucky to have found her, and i think we make a good couple. We're almost to six years and counting. LOL

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Gentlemen are a dying breed. And you may very well be a few of the remaining that exist! My partner is not a gentleman. Far from it! But I am teaching my boys to be gentlemen! It goes with the say, "You can catch more flies with honey than you can vinegar." Men need to realize that if they are polite, understanding, and compassionate...then they will receive far more in return.

We're raising our son the same way. He's so funny because at four he's more polite than most the people i know. he shakes hands and says, nice to meet you and please and thank you, and excuse me. LOL okay, sometimes it's EXCUSE YOU. LOL But we'll raise him to be a gentleman also. Women are special creatures and should be treated as such.

It is nice to know that I am not completely alone on this one. Are we truly a dying breed? Why is that? Is there something we can do to change this? I am teaching my son the same things I was taught(ok well MOST) about respect and how to treat women. Is this the only way to avoid fading into oblivion?

It has gotten lost amoung todays youth, fathers just don't seem to be teaching this to their sons as they should and society dosen't seem to care as much as they used to about it, when I was younger their used to be such a high regaurd for it and now a days it goes unoticed both ways, I was always taught to be a gentlmen from my father and have taught my sons to be as well and wish that other fathers would take to it as well, the world would be a much better place because of it.
