Have you tried any of the Secret shop jobs? They allow you to do some with your children. You get to choose the ones you want and the time you want to do them. You can do them when you are doing regular shopping as well so it really isn't taking time out of your schedule. They even have shops that can be done on bases as well. I know your delima.
