Chess is a sport at the current Asian games in Qatar. Some people want it included as an Olympic sport. What do you think?

I think if you can drink and smoke during it, the activity isn't a sport. So, maybe we should pull curling out and insert chess.
I could drink and smoke while curling, but I'm not so sure I could while playing the intellectual game of chess...

I'd eliminate rhthymic gymnastics, trampoline, and synchronized swimming. The latter is very athletic and difficult, but I just don't see it as something that's all that widespread in the world (but they're eliminating softball?!)
But hey, did you know that tug-of-war used to be an Olympic sport? It's true!

haha, they really had tug o war!?! I guess they should start up a good game of tag! I really don't watch the Olyimpics too much, because they show so many events and right wen you get into one they switch to another!

I think the olympics are more about physical sports...though the long jump doesn't exactly look like it takes a lot out of you....or that curling game or whatever you call it!..but they are still more physical than chess which is more intellectual.

Yes Chess is an intelligent game. It should get a seat in Olympics.
