That is a hard one, I also am dealing with the same thing. My daughter is two .I try to put her in her bed and read a story till she falls a sleep. some times it works. but she comes again at night. so I do it all over again. They say to try and leave her room before she falls a sleep. they will cry them self to sleep, for a couple of days but it should work. that is yet to try for us. I just can't see her hear her cry. well i hope I helped, good luck. and if anything wors let me know ,I would try too with mine.

maybe you could get him some special bedding of his favorite show, or tv character to help make him want to sleep in his own bed. If he's scared of sleeping in the dark alone maybe get him a nightlight of his favorite character. If he has trouble sleeping alone you could try sleeping the first few nights on the floor in his room so he knows you're near and gradually sleep farther away from him. Not sure if any of these ideas would help, but i hope they do.

I was just going to suggest some of the same things. If he tries to come back into your bed, take him back to his room and explain to him that he needs to sleep in his own bed now because he's a big boy. I know kids want to be "big".

well what we did was we got a twin size bed for my daughter and put her in it at about 1 year of age, we put her to bed by letting her fall asleep in my arms and then I would carry her to her bed. Later on she was too big to rest in my arms and she did not like that anyway anymore so now we will go to bed in her bed, and when she falls asleep I just get up and leave the room. She has gotten use to it, and some nights it takes a good hour before she finally goes to sleep without noticing me being gone. It is the only way to try to work that system...eventually he will be able to sleep on his own but this is what i do.
