I've found that by lying down with an ice pack at the base of my neck, sort of inbetween my shoulders can help ease some of the pain. I'm not too sure if that would help in your case, because my pain usually starts as a headache, and eventually works its way down into my neck and shoulders, but it's cheap and might be worth a try.
It takes the pain away enough anyway for me to fall asleep and let the wonders of sleep cure my ailments until the following night when it returns again lol...

in your case, can i just say "i told you so, i told you so!" ....now that we have the niceties out of the way, i don't know that there is much OTC that will help you...tiger balm MAY help a little, you can get it at walmart or just about anywhere. Maybe some of the theragesic would help. Oh yeah......i told you so, i told you so!

Hi merlin, neck pain can result from poor sleeping posture, injury, stress, disease and other sources. Most of the neck pain, back pain and shoulder pain can be prevented by specially designed pillow. OCA Water Pillow is an adjustable pillow designed to naturally position the head and neck on the basis of hydrostatic buoyancy to relieve neck pain and to improve your sleeping posture for a better night's sleep. Pillows can be an inexpensive way to try to alleviate neck pain before moving onto more intense therapies. For more information you can visit www.waterpillowonline.com and their blog www.waterpillowonline.com/blog. Their blog provides a lot of information about neck pain. Hope this can help :)
