Do you rate friends when they answer your discussion topic?

I never realized there was a plus, minus and exclamation on the side of each post! I've been told that giving plus ratings helps you earn money, helps those getting the plus earn. The minus should only be used for posts that are obvious attempts to just post and get money, not really saying anything. Minuses shouldn't be used to say you disagree with the post. The exclamation is for a post that is offensive or needs attention from the website owners.
So do you rate your friends to help them out?

I do use the ratings on my questions as well as others. I even just used the exclamation, for a guy who was asking people to log onto his paypal site! Amaxing, I rated him badly & told the truth in my answer, & then reported him, now, I can't find the question!
So, they do work, I hope the pluses are good for you!

yes i do try to rate my friends answers to my questions. In fact i try to give a positive rating to all answers i receive unless they are being abusive or give a single word answer when i will always give a negative response. I have never felt the need to use the exclamation mark yet but who knows? guess i would if i felt the need to report someone

I rate all responses positive as well, unless, like you, they answer yes or no, and then sometimes I don't rate those at all.

I am not sure if they really help us or not. But if I see a Good post or discussion from someone else or mine I will go and rate it, and I am not afraid to use the ! button either if I find a post against the rules, or I find offensive either.

I always use the rating system for my friends and for anyone else that responds to my discussions as well as rating peoples comments on other peoples discussions. It is very helpful for everyone. I rarely use the minus one unless someone says something sick, disgusting, stupid or violates the rules here.

That is true, or if the comment is not one that is appropriate or that has nothing to do the with the discussion. Early today I encountered someone who posted a comment to a discussion that had nothing to do with the topic. I commented to that effect and so did the person who started the discussion. It seems more like the person is doing a cut and paste just for points. I hope the person that started the discussion gave them a negative rating.

I rate everyone who give quality comments according to my perception regardless of they are friends or not. Because, if we just to rate + because they are our friends, then I believe this is not good for myLot and eventually not good for all of us here. Let us all rate + all top quality responses regardless if they are our friends or not.

I agree. I rate decent quality. I also give a minus to the ones that post cut and pastes or just answer with one word (unless that's acceptable)

speaking of copying and pasting, one myLot user posted a response to one of my discussions which was obviously copied from some informative website. i really wondered why the hell he/she posted that when it didn't have any relation to my question.

Yes... welcome aboard! I'm fairly new myself and that's why I asked the question.. to see who knew about the option. I don't just rate friends.. I rate anyone who answers my questions and the questions that I answer, along with any others I see that deserve a plus.

well that would be unfair to the other members of the mylot community. and i would advise those who are doing it to stop it. this is very rude, greedy and bad. so please be faithful to those discussions that you rate so that everybody could be equal.

I think most of those who do rate, will rate the questions they ask and the people who answer along with their friends. I know I do. I was more curious to see if people knew about the option. I had no clue!

I dont think that giving a plus or minus helps you to earn money. But I think maybe it helps other people to have a little boost to earn more. I honestly give positive rating to every person in a page that I encounter. I think they will give me back.
