Ok, I did a really dumb thing. We are having a pot luck, and someone suggested that I make jambalaya, well, I've never made it before. Does anybody have a good recipe for it? Thanks

I also use the Zatarain's Jambalaya mix and its very good. I put smoked sausage and chicken in it. Just cook your chicken and smoked sausage first and then follow the directions on the box. And its super easy.

Well, you could always by the Zaterans box and all you do is add the meats if you like. They are okay.

Here you go is a great recipe for it I make all the time. 6 slices of Bacon Diced Fine 1/2 Small Onion Minced Fine 1/4 Cup Green Pepper Diced 2 Cups Chicken Broth 1/2 Cup Ketchup 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar 1 Pound Shelled and Deviened Shrimp 1 Cup Diced Cooked Ham. , Deli Ham is fine 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch 3 Tablespoons Cold Water Salt and Pepper 4 Cups Cooked White Rice 1 Teaspoon fine red pepper flakes 1 Teaspoon Parsley Flakes In your skillet cook the bacon until crisp and remove bacon and put on paper towel to drain. Add your onion and pepper and cook on medium heat until tender. About 5 min. After 5 min. add your red pepper and parsley. Add ketchup , brown sugar and chicken broth. Simmer on med heat for 15 min. Cut the shrimp into small pieces and add it and the ham to your pan. Blend your cornstarch and cold water well and add it to the pan. Cook until thick. Remove from burner. Now comes the fun part eating the Jambalaya. Put a small mound of your white cooked rice on your plate and put a generous ladle of the Jambalaya over the rice. You won't believe how very good this is until you try it.
