Giving gifts to city workers?

How many of you out there give gifts to thier mailman or garbage man? I know my family tries to give them something every christmas. What have you given in the past?

we dont practise giving gifts to the mailman/garbage man..but during the chinese new year, normally my grandma/mom will give red packet (with money..as per chinese tradition) to them so that they will do a better job LOL

Wow, that's really nice. Do you think it gives them incentive to be a better worker. I know I would be happy to recieve something. But there are probably workers that like to recieve and not give back.

I don't even see my postman or garbage collector! They come early hours in the morning and besides, I'm on the third floor so by the time I ran down to give them anything, they would already be gone.

At least you have thought about it. That's ok. I'm sure they get gifts from other people. Have you seen anyone give them gifts? Thanks for your input.
