Christmas is Depressing

Does anyone else find Christmas a bit depressing? It seems that everyone is so greedy these days. Everyone wants to have their gifts bought by Thanksgiving - who cares what the gift is, just buy something, wrap it, and be done with it. Of course finding that perfect gift is next to impossible. I'd really like to get my kids the Ninendo Wii this year, but of course every store out there is sold out. It is also such a costly time of year. Then there is the stress of entertaining. Shouldn't it be a special time of year? A time to cheerish and be thankful for good friends and loved ones? Where is that part?

I always get depressed these days as I have no family now and Christmas jus makes me feel so down and I remember the things that used to happen, the little traditions and such, I tried last year taling up an invitation from a friend to join his family but I even got more upset, it was like looking in someone elses window. So I just lock myself away so I don't spoil anyone elses Christmas...

I find it depressing, but then I am a grinch. I hate shopping. But I went and already bought my kids presents. But yes I do find it extremely depressing, it only gets better after the New Year when things level back out.
