Revolting as in being sick? Or rebelling because it's what teenagers do to show they have some control over their life? They are forming their own identity and how they want their life to be. It's learn by your mistakes kind of thing...

They need to check their boundaries, wanna know how far they can go .. Maybe it also to prove their parents that they are able to do certain stuff on their own

Lol, when you said "revolting" I had a completely different image in my mind. I think teenagers tend to be rebellious because they are at an age where they are physically adults and want to get out and do things on their own. But, they still have immature minds and emotions, so parents need to keep an eye on them. It used to be that you were considered an adult around the age of 13 or 14 and could marry and hold a job. In nature, the age of adolescence is when the young strike out on their own and learn through trial and error. It is the time when someone is most likely to take risks and test their boundaries. So, they don't like to be told how to live their life. But, adults need to realize that they are not little kids anymore and need to figure out things for themselves.

Teenagers are at a stage whereby they are rebellious and that's why sometimes they tend to act not according to what is expected of them. It is a complex process but I think they have their up and down moments and as parents or educators, there needs to be this understanding of them, which is not easy definitely. And I don't doubt that there are difficult teenagers out there to deal with, but with time, can break into their thoughts, ambitions and more.

I don't get what you mean by teenagers being revolting as I am a teenager and don't think that I am revolting, I have good personal hygienie etc.

They have too much of freedom, money (they earn from part time) and all they need is proper guidance.
