An essay I have to write...need help...

I have an essay to write and would like your input. The only thing I have to go by is this: "Although Iraq has been described as "the cradle of civilization" it has also been the site, along with the Middle East in general, of te clash of civilizations: Islam and Christianity (not to mentin Persians, Mongols, Turks, etc.) Explain-- with reference to the Middle East-- how the clash of civilizations in the past may be relevant to the present." It's kinda ironic that I was asked to write this essay for my cousin, seeing as how I have been involved in a lot of the muslim-christian debates going on around here, but I would like to hear how you think about this...
