This very much depends on the operating system that you are using or intending to reinstall. If you are using Windows 98 you can make a boot floppy disk from the add/remove programs menu in Control Panel, which I think they called a Startup Disk. Boot up your computer with this floppy and type: format C: then press enter You can then install Windows from the Windows CD by typing: cd e: then press enter followed by: setup.exe then press enter Installation should now begin. If you are using Windows XP, then you need only place the CD in the drive and restart the computer to initiate installation. You will be offered the choice to format the drive before installation by the setup process.
