MTV an exclusive content provider for Microsoft's Xbox Live and Xbox consoles??? Time will tell. We all know that MS will unveil the Xbox Next on May 12 in America (May 13 in Asia) through MTV to a global audience. Rumors are rampant that Microsoft had signed a "big deal" with MTV some time ago and the May 12 unveiling for the next gen machine is "just the beginning" of the deal. Speculators say that as part of the deal, MTV will provide tons of content and coverage through Xbox Live: Xbox Live subscribers on both the old Xbox and Xbox Next will be able to not only watch music videos and MTV's programs (utilizing internet connection) but also download content from the world's leading music video network. Not only that, games featuring MTV (such MTV Music Generator) may end up being exclusive to MS. If the deal is confirmed to be true, then it means that MS landed a hard punch against Sony when it comes to the race of convergence.
