Children under the age of six months should ONLY be given boiled tap water. Boil the water in a kettle, allow to cool and pour into a bottle/drinking cup specifically designed for children of that gae. Mineral water should not be given to children under 1, nor is it reccommended for children of any age for that matter. After 6 months, you are ALLOWED to give children tap water, however most people choose to continue boiling their childs drinking water until at least after their child turns one, due to the fluoride in the tap water which can be detrimental to not only the development of the childrens teeth, but also their kidney function later in life :D Hope that helps.
