Who is your favourite pink floyd lead syd barret, david gilmour,roger waters and why?

well i like all three of them coz they have all taken the band in different directions but i would say that there would have been no pink floyd without syd barret as their musical style is more credit to him than anyone else

Love Gilmour, but also love how Water's bass could be the most prominent instrument in a hook. Hard to say. I guess I appreciate the trade-off.

the Pink Floyd were great together,the wall wathever was without Syd,and this album with the dark side of the moon they are the history of Pink Floyd

This is such a hard question for me to answer. I'm going to have to go with Syd Barret, though. The man was a genius and his music had a certain something that the others never quite had. Not to say Barret's work was better, it just had that something behind it. Maybe because Barret was insane, maybe because he was a genius, maybe both. I don't know. But his music just leaves me feeling things I can't quite explain. And you're right, he did set the musical tone for the band. David Gilmour especially kept his style as close to Barret's as he could.
