Need help re inserting links to websites

Recently replied to a post with a link to a website which was of relevance to the discussion, used the usual http://etc but when I posted the response it didn't come up as a clickable link? What is the correct procedure.

Hi friend, most of the times the link will be appropriate if we typed it in a good manner. If you missed some thing, it may displayed as a normal one, but you can correct your mistake using the comment section, by adding the link correctly once again
