With the Indian cricket now reaching a nadir, let us see who is the best in the business, both in the Test and ODI games. My vote goes to the Aussies, the Australian team is a thorough bred breed of professionals, the best in their departments, be it fielding, bowling, batting, wicket keeping, spin or pace, etc. Their selection is also very unbiased and it is surprising that the fastest bowler in the world - Bret Lee had to sit out of the team on several occasions. Not only that even a top performer like Glen Mcgrath had to face the sword of damocles when his performance was not match winning or not contributing enought to the team performance. They have been consistently winning against all the teams in the world and have also proved their superiority by winning most of the world championships. The present team under the able leadership of Ricky Ponting needs to be mentioned as the best in the world. Ponting himself leads by example, as he is the best batsman with the top batting average in the world today. So common all your cricketers....give your opinions.

Thanks Raj for agreeing with me. I think after we have discussed also, the recent win by Australia in the Ashes series, the triumphant win in the one day series over England, proves that they are unvunerable and can be called the best team, with no competitor around. The blips of losses are very rare and far, and can proudly announce they are "THE BEST".

Yes I agree with you, Australia has proven their point in the recent Ashes series, by winning both the One day series and the test series comprehensively. To compliment your view on India, the recent success in the South Africa Test gives India a boost, but they are way back in proving to be the best. The recent failures and inconsistencies in the Champions Trophy, the South Africa one day series, and also the 20-20 one day series. India has to come out with more consistent and winning combinations to show that they are the best in the world. Till then the proof is in the pudding.
