Must be awesome to have that length in family. I couldn't find any other word to describe it! The changes she must have seen.

I must be getting tired. I realized when it was too late to take it back that I had put the wrong name. My great grandfather was Pete, not Sam. I really can't believe I did that because I have always thought that if I had another son I would name him Peter and call him Pete. (The first son was already named after my husband and his father and grandfather, which trumped a great grandfather I never actually met!).

We were a close family at one time. Always spending time together and getting together for everything. So yes i know my great grandparents names and farther back. Granny was always telling us about our ancestors thats how she kept most of us kids entertained as children. But as we all started getting older we stopped sitting by granny's knee to listen to her stories and taking our kids to visit now we cannot recapture the past, now that granny has passed away and her stories are fading fast oh,one by one, oh one or two may linger or so but with each year she is passed and no one to tell her stories the past is fading....So will our grandchildren know who there great-grandmother is? I hope so maybe a story here and there... a photo..Keep the past alive hang those pictures up and talk to your kids about them. Because if not you who will keep the past alive for them.?

I know my great grand parents names but i have never seen them. And i know my grandparents names too, i have spent my time with my grandmother, but the rest have passed away already.
Only one is left, which is my grandmother.

I have spent time studing my ancestory...found it rather fascinating...I did the same with my ex and found a cousin of his living in AZ...was neat as he knew of no other relatives beyond his grandfather and this was his grandfather's brother's grandson..Was so neat to meet and see so many similarities in someone you didn't even know..
