Is Ebay sucking up all your profits?

I would be making really good money on Ebay if they hadn't doubled the fees. My sales haven't really increased but my fees certainly have. Unless I can ramp it up I am going to have to flick it. For the hassles I get from customers that are usually drop kicks I am just not making enough to put up wiht it. Is anyone else in this situation? Any ideas on cutting costs?

Yep, the Ebay fees are horrible. I owe them $400 for this month. I make enough to live off, but they take way too much. Then they double dip now since they own Paypal. None of the other auction sites are busy enough to make any real money though.

I don't know how much longer I will want to be part of Ebay. It's getting too expensive. You are right though about the other auctions sites, they are not busy at all. What do you sell?

I have never sold anything on Ebay, but did a lot of Christmas shopping there this year. I did notice that the prices were higher than I remember-and shipping charges were higher too. Is that why? Because the sellers are getting charged more?

Yes, Ebay fees are way too high. The charge to list it, charge for the photo, charge if it sells, and then vendio charges to list, and Pay pal charges. There is no profit range at all. The only people that do well, are the buyers.

Hmmm....Whay have they raised the prices? I actually attempted to sell a Collector's Barbie a bout 5 years ago, with no sucess. I don't remeber getting charged anything though, as I was broke as heck and needed the money!! But as I said, no such luck anyway. So people are trying to gain a little extra income by jacking up the shipping rates? Do they earn or have to pay a percentage if the shipping is higher? I bought a guitar for my daughter and it only costed me 3 dollars, but costed me 29.00 with shipping....

Selling set their own shipping fees but can be reported if being stupid about it. I was charges $100 to send a piece of jewelry across the world that I won for 99c. It isn't my fault that they didn't get any other bids, so I reported them and the transaction was overturned. I only deal with people that state postage prices up front and offer genuine combined shipping. I hate it when they take a percentage off.

I have decided to only sell collecitble and vintage items that I am fairly certain will bring a good price. Actually, that's how eBay got started, before it grew into a humongous site that apparently now caters to the larger sellers. And I have had more trouble with customers in the last few months than I have had in the last 3 years. Maybe it's time we all ditched eBay(like so many have done already) and start checking out other auction sites.

I am a seller. This year sales are way down on Ebay and Overstock. I do both auctions. artsgiftsandsilhouettes is me. My prices are very low for my items. Look at my website, silhouettes, and you will see how low they are on Ebay. www.mgcreativearts.com I keep my shipping/handling at only $3.00 and combine for no extra charge. In five years, this is the first time I am in the red.

Yes it is getting a bit nasty for sellers. I calculate postage for each package and sometimes people are saving $20 or $30. Most don't appreciate it. I have been having a lot more non payers too for silly amounts like $3.00.

Yes. I stopped using them. I do buy on there but I don't sell on there anymore. I buy books on there all the time. I was tired of losing money. When I first joined and was selling on there they didn't charge you if something didn't sell. Now they charge you an arm and a leg.
