Poetry - Do you write? or Read it?

Do you write or read poetry? What do you think of some of the amutures who have never been published for lack of trying to be published?
Personally I write, and a lot of people are astonished at how well I write. They claim I could be published.
I've read hundreds of poems. Most of the ones I read are by unpublished poetry writers and the poetry... well It would rival ANY published poet. In most cases, The poetry I've read by non-published poets is BETTER then some of the garbage that IS published.
Publishing houses have guidelines for poetry. Unfortunately, I've seen some of these guidelines discourage a writer's expressiveness. They are unable to meet their guidelines, and know that they wouldn't be considered for publishing because the guidelines eliminate their best poems. Like the guide line of no more then 10 lines ect... and the one where it has to be in a "chap" book format..
I write for me. To express my feelings, and get things off my chest. I don't have it published, but someday I'd love to take a collection of my finest, put them in a Poetry Book format and then take it to the publishers with the bookcover designed. Everything in it would be ME. nothing from anyone just ME. no one else designing my cover. no one designing the layout.. just my thoughts on paper... and in my format.. =O)
so Do you write? or read? Would you like to share a poem?

Here is one of mine.
~*I Watched*~
I watched you cry
I watched you die
I watched as you fell apart
From a broken heart
I watched your spirit slip away
I kept silent for I had no words to say
And I silently prayed
That your soul would be saved
I caught a tear on my fingertip
And watched as more dripped
I watched the pain you were enduring
It was somehow alluring
It was so raw and beautiful
Aching so mournful
My heart gripped in empathy
My tears fell in sympathy
I grappled with words of comfort, for my heart had felt the same
And every once in a while, My heart remembers that pain
I watched your tears bleeding
And I watched the pain succeeding
I watched it tear you apart
I watched it break your heart
I watched you cry
I watched you die inside
I caught a tear on my fingertip
And once again hoped you'd find comfort in my friendship...

io write and read it
I'll give you my heart; I'll open it up,
Will you listen to its small still voice?
For soft and quiet my heart will speak
To the one I'll call my wife.
Did you hear it dear? Did you listen well?
Do you understand what it said?
For deep is the love that it speaks to you,
Deep as the rose is red.
So, take my heart and treat it well
And forever in this life,
Come walk with me, your hand in mine,
The one I'll call my wife.

I also have moments when i feel inspired and lay down on paper a few words. I'll try to share one of my poems writen in english, let me know what you think of it:
- Let the angels for you pray -
Scattered glass thru my existence
Stepping right in front of me,
Guidance to my life ambitions
When there was no one to see;
You gave life from your own beeing,
And you walked along the way;
Mother, sister, child... oh, woman,
Let the angels for you pray!

I write poetry. I actually have three poems published on Poetry.com. I have trouble with writers block sometimes if I do too much writing. I think I hold myself back sometimes because I'm so meticulous about grammar and punctuation that I'm no longer focusing on just writing.

I like poetry. I don't write often, but when I do, it's because something has happened in my life or to someone in my life that I need to express feelings, and that sometimes seems the only way to express them.

I used to write poems when I was younger (and read a lot more of them, too). I had a couple published when I was in college. I haven't thought about poetry in a really long time until yesterday, when I was on Gather.com. They have several poetry groups on there, and one of the correspondents suggested everyone creating a poem based on using a metaphor. It just started me thinking about writing a poem and what I would use for the metaphor. For the first time in many years, I actually started thinking seriously about poetry again. You should try a challenge like that on MyLot...pick a topic or style, give a range of number of lines, and see where folks take you. I thought this was a very interesting idea.

I have written it in the past. I had some things published in high school. I have a few books of poetry some where that I used to read. I have to be in the mood to write it though. I am sad to say the modd has not struck me in years.

I used to write poetry back in High School. Me and my friend used to exchange our poem in the classroom. Everyday we make poems that will be shown to each other on the next day. Cool eh? But now I'm interested on writing songs. I've already made some composition and looking forword to make some more.

I write and read. I love poetry and prose in general. I've never had anything published, though. Perhaps I'll get around to that someday. Mainly everything I've written is either on my computer or in several different notebooks. I have a few poems up on DeviantArt, but nowhere near all of the ones I've ever written.

I do write poetry. I have had a few poems published when I entered a poetry contest. It is hard keeping in the 20 lines 160 words. I have a few that go on for pages. I write poetry because I love it.
I didn't used to read poetry but I have done here lately. It is mainly to see how others write, their style.

Yes! I am a poet! I write poems!
Here also i wouldlike to post this recent poem:
A Profile of the City
The face of the cement concrete figure
The rat race and the trigger:
Shadows after shadows trailing
Shadows and shadows remaining!
And there are roads
And the crowds
The faceless identity
The restless ability!
Increasing a vacuum i between space
Not a single work for the grace
Some one's finger is writing
On the water surface:
Here is the city and it's profile
Indulging a feagile!
