Working Abroad

Considering the financial crisis that one goes through in my country, it is always very attractive to work abroad. I myself is pretty much drawn to it. However, in doing so, it means that you'd have to leave your loved ones. A high price you've got to pay to provide a better future for your family.
A fair trade? I have no idea. Haven't been away from my own family longer than a month actually. And just the thought of not seeing them for months onwards, even years at times, is I think not worth the hefty paycheck that you deliver to them.
Or is it?
Those who've been away from their family to work abroad. What do you think? Fair trade?

I have experienced such thing as living away from my family. I stayed with my relatives when I was in college, but when I started working I had to live with my brother. It was doing great when finally my brother was hired by another company based from another country. When he relocated, the feeling of living alone, without any close family member nearby was such a devastating feeling for me. I have no one to talk to except my officemates, when I get home, I'm all alone, nobody to talk to, nobody to share my today's ups and downs, I feel like I'm lost. My phone bills started to shot up as I always call my parents, or very close friends, just to have someone to talk to. But I don't know how about my brother who is currently in South Korea. But i guess it all depends on the person on how they feel about being away from family.

i've thought about working overseas, too...the lure of a better life and a higher-paying job is sometimes too great...it's never a fair trade, but for the sake of people you love, sometimes, you need to sacrifice...
