Despite many Americans' dissatisfaction, the Democratic and Republican parties are currently well entrenched without any formidable opposition. Could it be possible to create a new party which has a platform that appeals to more Americans than either the Democrats' or the Republicans'?

I think that is a wonderful idea. But I think the government has moved to far away from "For the People" that no one would be able to recognize it if they saw it. And no other part could have enough money to win an election unless they were as corrupt as the republicans and democrats

I think it's only a matter of time before you see some sort of moderate party being formed. You already have potential candidates that would fit in it. John McCain for example, who is a Republican but was almost nominated as a vice presidential candidate for the Democrats during the last election.
I personally think there needs to be what I like to call a "blue collar" party made up of people who make under $100,000 each year. Unfortunately, like most 3rd parties, I don't think they will do well in national elections, which are won with money.
